- missourijanExplorerWe had a set of Cooper Maxis that lasted 3 1/2 years, longer than anything else we had on it. The manufacturer put on Mission (Chinese), they didn't last a year, then we put on the Cooper Maxis. They were still on when we traded for a new one in November 2011
- JASPERJRExplorerwhat were u towing missourijan..
- poncho62Explorer3 1/2 years still isnt a long time....depending on usage etc...or non usage.
I bought an older 5th wheel last year....I went from 205-14s to Goodyear Marathon ST225-15s. I figure the bigger tire is built for more weight, and should last longer because of it....... - amxpressExplorerI had Maxxis on my Jayco TT with no problems.
That's one reason I recently installed a set of Maxxis M8008 ST235/80R16 tires on my Columbus, replacing the OEM Akuret china bombs.
I balanced them, too.
When I compare tire to tire, the Maxxis had a much firmer sidewall and weighed more than the Akuret tires.
Very happy with the Maxxis. - ScottGNomadIf your replacing 15" ST's then Maxxis is about the only good choice.
- mileshuffExplorerMaxxis is one of the few decent ST tires. Otherwise go with LT tires such as Michelin XPS Ribs, or the Bridgestone Duramis R250's. Expensive but well worth it.
- dezl_drExplorerSailun tires are great if you can run a 235/85/16.
- jjjExplorerI have a 05 38' Challenger 5r and a little over a year ago I put on a set of Michelin M/S2 on mine. I got them for 200.00 each at Americas Tires. I have about 2000 miles on them and they still look brand new. I keep them covered when it is parked at home and put 303 protectant on them. I don't use any other sealant on them other than the 303. I always run them at 80 psi.
- Jim_SharonExplorerThree trips back and forth from coast to coast on MAXXIS 8008 ST tires, and not one problem. In fact I've only added air from year to year ( not trip to trip ).
If you need to use ST tires, this is the brand I recommend. - riggspExplorer3rd year with Maxxis 8008's with no problems...Upgraded from 15's to 16's with new wheels and tires...found that 1 Maxxis tire weighed almost as much as 1 original tire and wheel together...Maxxis has a stronger sidewall also...so far I'm very pleased...maybe my imagination, but my rig tows easier and smoother now that with the chinese tires and wheels that came on it.
