We have the B&W Companion in our F350. I recently installed a Pace Edwards and find there is just enough room to clear the hitch.

I like it very much. There are actually several brands of this type and style and the prices vary. Good luck.

I use a Retrax also covering my BW Patriot, more security for my cargo and hitch, after unhitching just pull the Retrax closed and lock. While towing the 5ver its locked in the open position.

I have a Retrax on my Tundra with a B&W hitch. No problems with the fit. Cover latch will lock the cover in any position, so no problems with it unrolling as another poster mentioned. It can freeze if it gets wet in the winter however. Hasn't been a big problem. A night in the garage or a few wacks seems to free it up.

I have a roll n lock with a draw-tite 16k fifth wheel hitch, I put a small block of wood to set the hitch plate to sit flat, remove the king pin handle and the cover rolls over the hitch. Works for me.

For a tonneau cover with a FW, I wanted:

1. To be able to see the FW hitch from the drivers seat, while hitching up.

2. Minimal added height to the truck's bed rails for maximum clearance from FW upper deck overhang.

3. Able to close the tonneau part way, while towing, to shield some items from the sun.

The soft roll up that I had with a TT would block my sight of the hitch from the drivers seat. And add 1 to 1-1/2" to the bed rail height. And cannot be closed part way.

I have no experience with foldups, so I will pass on commenting, except the added height when folded concerned me.

That led me to retractables like Roll-N-Lock and Pace Edwards JackRabbit.

I got the JackRabbit. It met my criteria and it is compatible with a Transfer Flow 37 Gallon Roll-Top Fuel Tank (in bed auxiliary fuel tank). My wife and I love the extra driving range before the next fuel stop, with a 40' trailer behind.

OP: The JackRabbit diagram shows 11.75" for the roll top canister (front to back dimension).

I have the Roll-n-lock also. 2500HD. Mor-ryde pin box. I have no issues, but have heard some pin boxes might his side rails.
