Tool Box-Fuel Tank Combo

Several months ago I saw a posting about the above subject and can't find it again. We have a '15 GMC 3500 HD and are looking for a 5th wheel. I thought the Bx/tank was good idea to fill up at the best locations re; price, availability, and ease of entry. So, any suggestions on the combo we should look for? Thanks in advance.

While gravity feed will work "Great" - it does have a drawback. I don't think it will comply with the latest EPA guidelines on fuel vapor escape from the fuel system. Also there might be a problem in a accident, where fuel can escape. So I don't know if they can be installed anymore.

TransferFlow is spending a lot of money to make the systems with fuel pumps to transfer the fuel from your second tank to the main tank, and monitor the fuel levels in both tanks for a reason, compliance with Federal Laws.

. I have the 50 gal as well and love that all I need do is fill it and everything else is automatic. The tank fits below the bed rails so my BakFlip cover hides everything in the bed when not towing. I also have a black DeeZee tool box that fits perfectly between the fuel tank and hitch, also below the rail.

I put a 60 gallon Titan replacement tank in my new truck. It is the second one I have had and they work well. It is made of the same plastic as the original so is lighter than the Transfer Flow, which is metal. It is a lot of money to spend for an extra 24 gallons so I am not sure it is worth it but I did not want a tank in my bed. I did find it on Amazon for somewhat less than other sites.

Thanks for the info, I will check them out. Good idea about the lower center of gravity. I am also about 12 miles from the Tractor Supply store.

Farm and Fleet is a great place to start looking for such a item. Also Tractor Supply, sort of a larger general store for those living the rural life.

I would be looking for something under the bed, to keep the center of gravity as low as possible. Whine in the past, they could make gas and diesel aftermarket replacement tanks, the EPA is very stringent about fuel vapor leaks, so most replacement tanks today are diesel only.

TransferFlow.com is a great manufacture of replacement fuel tanks. I have heard that they make a replacement for the 26 gallon GMC trucks with something like 50 or 56 gallons, it extends a little ways under the cab, and is mounted between the cab and driveline.

Transferflow also sells tanks for Weekend Warrior toyhauler trailers. They also sell a toolbox combo unit, with up to 70 gallons in the toolbox.
