My '14 Ram 2500 is rated at 10,000lbs GVWR. That is simply because 10K is the max weight limit for a 3/4 ton/2500 badge per government standards. If you look at the axle ratings it has a FAWR of 6,000 and a RAWR of 6.500....grand total 12,500 lbs. Doesn't quite add up now :h
Published base weight is 7,958 with with 4,979 on the front and 2,980 on the rear. So, that leaves me a shade over 1,000 lbs on the front axle and 3,500 lbs on the rear......according to axle ratings.
I'm happy with the power and the braking capacity especially with the OEM exhaust brake. I put on a set of Timbrens just to keep things level. We towed 4,100 miles through the Rockies a few weeks ago and at no point felt over loaded, top heavy, or outmatched by the trailer.
