Toy Hauler for hauling Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

I've started looking at ways to take our Jeep with us when we travel, and toy haulers came up. So far I've found the Forest River Work and Play 34WRS that appears (per spec) to be able to handle the weight, inside and on the ramp, of the Jeep. I also want to be safe, and not overload a trailer (or my tow rig).

Does anyone have any experience with hauling their Jeep Wrangler Unlimited around with them in their toy hauler?

Can anyone suggest other traditional toy haulers with high payloads? I know I have seen some years ago in 6k to 7k ccc. I wont be hauling a wrangler but will need to load it up.

Dont confuse CCC with payload capacity in the garage area.

For example I have have 6500 CCC but only 3k allowed in toys

  • Look at Millenium, InTech and Feather Lite toy haulers. They are enclosed car haulers with living quarters that have the capacity you need.
  • Since Forest river Quit making the Work and Play 5th wheel models you only bet is a custom built race hauler. Check out Racing Junk.com classifieds trailers with living quarters to get ideas on the many that are out there. Or get a motor home

Time to upgrade from a trailer to a motorhome and tow a toy hauler, here's my toy hauler..

  • check these out http://inventory.milltrailers.com/inventory/gooseneck-living-quarters
  • The Unlimited is listed at 4,521 lbs. The payload capacity for the unit you are looking at from my quick look up is 4,527 lbs. so that leaves you 6 lbs. of spare weight, that's assuming you load noting else. I'd double check your numbers but from what I'm looking at you don't have enough to safely tow your Unlimited inside the trailer. Most Wrangler Unlimited Jeeps are toad behind motorhomes.

I do see some guys with 4 door Wranglers but they are usually on something like an flat bed trailer with an trailer or pop up mounted to the flatbed.
  • A JK Wrangler Unlimited is almost as big as a full-size Suburban!!!

    Heavy as hell, too.

It's crazy to try to put that much weight BEHIND the axles of ANY trailer...

    Don't do it.
  • What does your jeep weigh and how much else are you putting into the toy hauler? Sounds almost impossible, but give us some numbers please.
