Just depends on the pet. You'd need to ride back there with them a couple of times just to make sure the ride doesn't bother them. Also if they have problems en route you have no way of knowing about it. My wife has ridden in our fifth wheel and says it isn't bad. But she also had a way of communicating with me. Your pet may not be so lucky.
