Traveling with things on counter

Just wondering how many travel with things on there counter tops? We have never done this for fear of getting bounced off. Ran into a couple that keeps their canisters, toaster and coffee maker on counter while traveling. Said they have never had a problem. Anyone else do this?

I am reminded of years back when every car had a "package shelf" behind the rear seat. in a motorhome the same thing could happen with projectiles.

I learned my first time out - it is just terrible to go into the camper and find things all over the floor. Even our paper towel will totally unravel itself if it is not secured or stowed.

Maybe this is different for the occasional RVers who drive 20 miles to a campground and back, but we drive thousands of miles and if it is not pot holes it is (always) one idiot that cuts right in front of me and then steps on the brake!

In Alabama I had a teenage girl on a cell phone run a red light in front of me. I had to do a emergency stop to keep from hitting her. Stopped inches from her car door with my front bumper. In every cabnet and closet everything was piled to the side of the cabinet. My coffee table that was unsecured slid into the kitchen cabinets (minimal damage).

All it takes is one hard stop to avoid hitting something and then there is a mess to deal with. Why take a chance?

I'm in the camp of Chrisatthebeach! Leaving stuff on the counter works until it doesn't and then you have a mess and possible damage to unit and the stuff that decided to fly from the countertops! It just takes 5 minutes to put stuff up so why risk it! We are camping and relaxing, why get in a hurry and leave stuff out to possibly cause undo stress.

People who enjoy camping and RVing are the best organizers and packers in the world! Happy Holidays!

The five and a half things we take out, (she takes out) only take a few minutes. fifteen minutes and I have the outside done, she has the inside done, wash up, bathroom call, and on the road. When we get to where we are going, she does the inside I do the outside, 15 minutes and we have the chairs out, slides out and ready for relaxing time. Put the stuff away, stuff don't get broke, things don't break or scratch your investment and you won't have any messed to clean up. Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !

One could always run down to the big box handyman store and grab some 4" drywall screws and an impact driver. Just be sure you're really satisfied with the placement of the item. Note....does not work well with salt and pepper shakers LOL.
Too many geezers, self appointed moderators, experts, and disappearing posts for me. Enjoy. How many times can the same thing be rehashed over and over?

Toaster behind the sink faucets, and Coffee maker, with pot secured, behind stove top travel well. No incidents in 90,000 miles. 3 Gallon plastic water dispenser not so well. On our third which now travels on the floor, to start with...

Our little Mr Coffee machine sits on the counter all the time. It's gone from Wisconsin to Maine, and to California. Occasionally drifts an inch or two but has never gotten close to falling. We have a rear kitchen and shocks on our 5er.

We put everything away after leaving our knife block a few years back. Left several nice holes in the floor and big scratch on the fridge when it fell off going down the road.
