Further investigation.... the gooseneck shows signs of having a large tag replaced by a WA DMV serial number tag. Also, I'm right about the the electric brakes.. the cannon plug is still on with the wiring for the breakaway safety device. The fellow who's name was on the title died over a decade ago. Fortunately I found his widow and TN accepted her sign off. Somewhere in the past years this thing changed hands but the original serial number tag was gone. WA DMV probably dragged their feet but agreed to assign a home made tag in 1990. I've built trailers and you take them into DMV for inspection and the WA tag. Someone took this in to DMV in 1990 and the state did what they could. However... this remains an early 70's (??) factory built single axle fifth wheel. "Weekender" was the moniker of the day but who made it I still don't know. I'm drying it out, sealing the roof, and painting "Kilz". It's got more life in it. That Coleman furnace is great... really great.
