Have found the factory gutter spout/extensions on my 5er aren't doing the job. Much of the water still runs down the side as can be seen by the dark streaks running down from them. Spouts are clear of debris and trailer is perfectly leve. I have the same streak down both sides of the front of my 5er. Are there better options out there?

We put the gutter extensions on ours and they work very well. Anything that gets the water out a little farther would do the trick.

I don't have that problem with my current camper and the factory installed gutter spouts, but my previous camper did. I replaced the short spouts with longer ones, and never had the problem of streaking again, if so, it was very minor. Worked well for 8 years.

I also have black streaks running down my rear picture window area on my 5th wheel trailer... I think one could solve the problem by placing a long 1/2-inch angle strip across the roof near the rear edge. You can use Dicor Sealant (No screws) to hold the aluminum angle strip in place. This would route the run-off water to each side of the roof to run off using those add-on spouts you are referring too.I purchased the aluminum angle strips but never got around to installing it... hahaI got the idea from my OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer roof area which already has this J-strip rain gutter installed like shown in this GOOGLE on-line photo.Roy Ken

The close pin is a good idea but the looks of those hanging off my 5er would drive me nuts and I don't want to be installing/removing all the time. Looking for something that is permanatley attached to trailer

If you go to Wally, they have a set of gutter extensions that move the gutter out about 2".

I cut some PVC pipe 12" long and pushed them on all four spouts . Keeps the water off the RV except for heavy wind. Camper in storage so I am not sure if 3/4 or 1" PVC pipe.

My last trailer had the same issue,,, the wooden clothes pins work great !

Try putting a little caulk or adhesive on the underside of the spout about an 1/8" back. This should stop the water from traveling up the underside and drip off.

Bought a couple feet of black heater hose from auto parts
Cut my extentions and skipped them onto gutter spout
snug fit, stays on , works great

I guess its just a matter of finding some longer spouts. Mine are only about 1" long and the water wants to curl back around the tip back towards the trailer. I see there are some longer ones on ebay.
