Valve stem diameter

Here are valve stems that will work with Ford aluminum wheels.Here I have them in my wheels.

Yep! The metal stems would not fit my aluminum wheels because of the recessed holes. Had to put in high pressure rubber snap in. So I don't know if I will continue to use my tpms or not.

Installers always install new valve stems with new tires, so just specify you want metal stems rather than rubber. Let the installer determine the right diameter shank, length and mounting style (some have the nut on the inside for use on wheels with recessed holes). Places like Discount Tire will install metal stems w/o extra $$.

The diameter difference would be in size of the whole in the wheel that the stem goes through.

I've never heard of different valve stem diameters for street vehicles, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. My air chuck and gauges fit everything from by bicycles to my tractor trailer. Having said that, we did have larger valve stems on our 20 yard scrapers. I'm waiting to see what others say.
