We may have to sell our 5th Wheel. I am looking for advice on the best way to do it. We've only had it a year and bought it new. Should we sell it with the truck, without or optional? Should we try a consignment at a large RV dealer or try ebay or Craig's List? Thank you for your advice.

Thanks for the great feed back. Our fifth wheel is such a beauty! 2013 Heartland Big Horn 3055 RL with 6pt hydraulic leveling system.

Just a thought, would the dealer you bought the Heartland from work with you on some kind of deal to sell it for you????

A very sad development. Burned beyond reckognition. Very tragic for simply trying to sell a truck.

Whatever you do, be carefull. This man has still not been found. From Toronto Star.......The family of a Toronto man arrested in south Mississauga late Friday afternoon is shocked that he's been charged in connection with the mysterious disappearance last Monday of an Ancaster man.
Deepak Paradkar, the lawyer for Dellen Millard, 27, said his client comes from a good family and described him as a โ€œpolite, reserved and humble guy.โ€ He has no criminal record that Paradkar knows of, and it makes โ€œno senseโ€ that he would be involved in such a bizarre set of circumstances, Paradkar said.

Millard is charged with theft and forcible confinement in the disappearance of Tim Bosma, 32, a married father of one. Bosma disappeared last Monday night after accompanying two men who took his black Dodge Ram pickup truck on a test drive. Bosma had posted the truck for sale on Kijiji and AutoTrader.

Sadly, Tim's body was found today.

My vote would be consignment as well. Check out http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/ in Houston. Website details their business model and marketing. They do sell a lot of units. Sure, you'll have to pay a commission, but seems worth it to me to have someone that does RV sales day in day out do it for you.

The truck should be an easy individual sale. Good luck.

Make sure consignment dealer has a good credit rating.
I read about a consignment lot where the guy went bankrupt and they impounded all the vehicles he had on his lot.

Consignment would be my choice. Let the pros who have a steady flow of customers sell it for you.

Just sold or "2011". Bought it new so I was prepared to take a bath. Looked on net for what they were worth and let a friend sell it that use to be a buyer for a multi RV dealership. He put it on a private lot that was on a busy highway. He put signage on it and put an add on the net. A drive by bought it in a week. He sold it for what I wanted plus his commission. Glad I didn't have to deal with a bunch of look lous and have to drive to the storage lot and pull it out for a showing. All concerned were happy.

Sold mine on craigs list today,it took two weeks, as a matter of fact.I sold my last one on craigs list too.You just have to use common sense. If it doesnt seem or feel right it probably isnt. You will get more money selling on your own than giving it to rv dealer to sell. They want to sell their new units over yours. They wont push as hard to sell yours and then people are walking through it all the time.Damage happens.Plus their commission.Way better to have patience and sell it outright.Nothing wrong with craigslist if your smart.Ive sold dozens of items on craigslist. Not everyone is out to get you.

I sold mine on Cragslist. Wanted to sell just the 5er but the buyer wanted truck also. In listing be sure to post several good pictures and price it/them right. My price was firm and so listed. Have found that posting Thursday of Friday will keep it near the top for viewing. Sold mine in 3 weeks ( think I posted it twice ). Good luck.

I helped a friends wife sell their 5th wheel. I went down and got a written agreement from the dealer. On a $28K 5th. wheel he charged $2000 commission. He also went to the home and towed the trailer to his business. The dealer told me he also advertised the trailer on craig's list and a couple of other web sites for RVs. It sold in 2 weeks. Everyone was happy.
