We are currently in the Williamsburg, VA area. Due to family emergencies we need to get home. The problem is the slides on our 2009 Montana will not work. We had to manually move them out when we arrived here to visit three of our children. The landing legs will not operate either. Does anyone in this area know where we could find a mobile repair service? We have asked around but no luck. One "repairman" came out, did nothing but look, charged $45 and said he would call back on Monday. Haven't heard anything since then. If push comes to shove we will try to push the slides back in and wait until we get home. Thanks in advance for any help given.

Have you checked the state of your batteries?

If you are at a camp ground you might get some good help from another camper there with a fifth wheel.It sure sounds like a 12VDC problem... All of those things get powered by the converter/charger unit when plugged into shore power and the battery. Need to look for some blown fuses...If the battery is run down you can always nose the truck up to it and use jumper cables - be sure to connect the cables correctly to the battery terminals or you will have more blown fuses to find.Roy Ken

What campground are you in? I know some folks in the area who may be able to help you troubleshoot. It sounds like an electrical issue.Also, 99% of the folks in the campground with you will be willing to help.

Sounds like a dead battery to me. Check that first. Slides generally need a strong battery even if hooked to shore power as sometimes the converter just does not put out enough power to operate the slides without a good battery to assist.

We will check the battery tomorrow. We thought the first guy did that but maybe not. We have checked all the fuses. We are currently at a military campground near Williamsburg.

Does your camper have a battery disconnect ? I had that happen once hit it with out knowing couldn,t get either to work until I found it !

It would still need 12 volt power to run the hydraulic pump.

Is it possible this unit has hydraulic slides and landing gear? If so it could be that the pump is not working or a hose broke.

I have a 2005 Keystone Challenger. Both the landing leg system and the slide operating system come right off your battery. Your shore power and invertor probably will not operate them. Try a new battery. The landing gear circuit has a 30 amp in-line fuse right by the battery. The slide system runs through an automatic resetting circuit breaker also right by the battery. I believe all your problems will be located right in the battery compartment. Good Luck!

Does your 2009 Montana have the remote control unit? The manual switches not working on units with the remote control is a well known problem. Put a new battery in the remote (which you obviously are not using) and try closing the slides.

Join the Montana Owners Club (MOC) at montanaowners.com for answers to anything Montana related. There are numerous posts (with the solution) on the remote control unit locking out the manual switch

If you don't have the remote control system then you likely have a 12V issue somewhere.

Mine has a circuit breaker with 2 posts on it It's just standard size. There is a very small button that is hard to see, but you can run your finger around the breaker When you find the little button push it in and it should reset the breaker. I had this happen the end of June and a very wise service man in Amarillo talked me through everything. That got my 12 volt power back. That simple. May not be your problem, but give it a try. This breaker should be close to battery box and will be mounted one of the storage bins. Mine was on back wall of the very front compartment. Hope something works.

Power for slideouts and front landing gear ALL are wired directly from battery.

They have in-line fuses or DC circuit breakers (small box with 2 studs) and should be 30A or larger

Check the battery voltage then trace/check wiring coming off battery for those individual fuses/breakers...usually close to battery in front compartment.
