- BobKrogstieExplorerWhat's the max pressure required? Does Santa have a budget?
- ScottGNomadMy research indicated the Pancake style Dewalt AC did a great job and held up well.
I bought one and ended up using it a lot more than I planned (was hired to do two remodels and some other work) and it has performed flawlessly.
Home Depot sells a lot of their pancake units but they get lousy reviews. - stickdogExplorerI have a craftsman 125# for my 110# GY's. It could barely make the pressure. The new 5er has J GY's 125# went with a Dewalt 6gal 165 psi.
- rexlionExplorerI like my ViAir 88P. It clamps direct to battery. Avoid any that plug into a 12v socket, they take forever to do the job.

- 1320FastbackExplorerI work construction, production framing and if it isn't a big gas compressor guys will always run Porter Cable pancake compresssors. Hardly ever see any other brand.
I've got a few of them. When they stop making pressure people will toss them aside not knowing a $8.00 leather piston ring is all that's worn out. - Dick_BExplorerWhile you are waiting try searching this Forum for `air compressor' and read on.
- gboppExplorerI bought a Porter Cable 150 psi for our Southwind tires. It works great.
- fj12ryderExplorer III"It must be a portable unit."
Portable as in 12V, or portable as in able to carry around, either 12V or 120VAC? - SDcampowneroperExplorerrolair fc1500hbp2. $199. small tank direct drive to oiled compressor. regulator very compact vertical design. adjustable up to 150 psi great tire filler. Used mine today on the Outer Banks of NC to refill my truck tires from letting them down to 25 psi to drive in the sand.
6 yrs also on construction in camp driving trim nailers. Can drive 1/2" air wrenches with patience to let the pressure build back up. 5 sec. wait.
