What portable Air Compressor to buy?

I need Santa to bring me a new portable air compressor to maintain my Fiver tire pressures. Any suggestions. It must be a portable unit.

I have a hot dog style compressor that is getting long in the tooth. Best thing about it is it fits perfectly in the basement step of my 5er. I don't know that I could get a pancake unit in.

My question is: are these things "weatherproof" as in can you throw them in the back of the truck and not worry about them? The electricals on mine are covered but not sealed.

This is what we recently bought. It has pretty high reviews and is “quite” small. Being relatively flat (low profile) , it is easy to store!

Certainly wasn’t advertising Grainger ( didn’t buy from there).... but that’s where I got the picture!

I bought this one: Porter Cable Compressor, and really like it. It stores easily, and does the job just fine. It has a small tank but I only use it for filling tires so I don't care about storage capacity.

Lowes has a Porter Cable 150# compressor in their Thanksgiving ad for $100. Better hurry! Very good product.

MV-50 works well for me on the road. 12 volt.
2.5 gallon craftsman works fine at home. 120 volt.

I bought this for $119.00 from Harbor Freight knowing that it was a cheep unit. Well it has surprised me for about 6 years now. I don't use it a lot but it has always worked fine. It will pump up to 125PSI. Look at the reviews on it

I would get at least a 125 psi compressor. It's always better to have the extra capacity.

I have a 110V Porter Cable that works great. But you'll need at least a 100 psi, and 120 psi would be better to fill tires to 80 psi. Most compressors have a bit of an issue getting to their rated pressure. Best to buy a higher rated unit and not have to wait so long to reach your desired pressure.

We needed one that would reach 110 psi for our G-rated tires, so we bought one rated for 120 psi. The previous one we did have that was rated for 110 psi simply wouldn't do the job.

I am not a full timer, but in all the 20+ years i have never carried a compressor for the camper tires. :h

rolair fc1500hbp2. $199. small tank direct drive to oiled compressor. regulator very compact vertical design. adjustable up to 150 psi great tire filler. Used mine today on the Outer Banks of NC to refill my truck tires from letting them down to 25 psi to drive in the sand.
6 yrs also on construction in camp driving trim nailers. Can drive 1/2" air wrenches with patience to let the pressure build back up. 5 sec. wait.
