We had a complete wheel by wheel weighing today, with the truck and trailer loaded for travel. Weighing was done by Stacey and his wife at http://weighit.tripod.com at Casa Grande, AZ.
Truck: 2004 D/A CC SB 2WD. 400# passengers and dog. Tool box with Honda generator, some fuel and other stuff. Reese slider hitch.
Fuel was just above 1/4 full.
Trailer: 2004 Crossroads Cruiser CF28RL fiver. The kitchen cabinet sticker says it weighed 7300# dry at the factory. We had our stuff plus 1/3 full fresh & waste tanks.
Truck front l/r: 2025/2025 = 4050. GAWR 4410. Tires 3042 each.
(Truck front weighed exactly the same with and without fiver.)
Truck rear l/r no 5er: 1600/1575=3175. GAWR 6084. Tires 3042 each.
Truck total without 5er: 7225
Truck rear with 5er: 2900/2725 = 5625.
Loaded truck total 9675. GVWR 9200 (over by 475)
5er front l/r: 1750/1800 = 3550 GAWR 5200. Tires 2830 (E range Maxxis)
rear l/r: 1800/1850 = 3650
Trailer axle weight 7200
Trailer total 9650 GVWR 12395.
Pin weight 2450 25%
Total GCW 16,875 (don't have the GCWR handy)
Comments:
This is a pretty light trailer but the bed slide and front storage really puts the pin weight up there for such a relatively small 5er. I'd be better off running a full tank of fresh water (58 gals) in the far back of the unit. And/or better if I got a (solidly mounted) storage box on the rear of the trailer to replace the one in the truck bed.
