well after camping this weekend figured i would run my pickup and camper across a local set of scales, a 2003 chevy 1500hd, 2004 kz durango, loaded with water, sewer tanks about quarter full, 120 quart cooler in the bed still loaded with plenty of beverages (around 80#) a load of firewood in the bed as well, the total weight with 2 adults in pickup as well, 15,980#, pickup weighs around 6400#, with just pickup on sclaes it was 8000# so around 1600# pin weight, this is the most i would want to pull with a 1500 hd, does pretty well, mileage is nothing to write home about, but it does fine, run about 20# in the airbags, could run a little less yet as the rear of the pickup was actually a little high,my truck is rated for 16,000# gross, so not much more, but this is the heaviest it will be loaded!
