Whats Your Real Weights? Truck and Trailer. The Real Deal

I donโ€™t know if itโ€™s been done before or not but I was thinking about keeping a running list of real truck weights by year and type, and trailer weights by brand, size and what the total combined weight is of each guys rig. I was hoping the info would be a help for guys wondering about what the real weights are for a certain type of truck and to keep track of the more popular brand 5th wheel trailers. Another thing that will come out of it will be to see just how many guys really know what they are towing and if they know what their weight capacities are.
Iโ€™m sure it will take some time to compile a list and it will grow as guys add there info but Iโ€™m hoping it will help the newer guys in the long run to be directed back over to this thread in the future.
Iโ€™ll keep the TV lists to mainly the big 3 and from ยพ ton and up and Iโ€™ll try to keep the 5ers in a group by real GVW, length, and then manufacture. Any ideas are welcome as long as it makes things easier. And only real information can be given, so no guessing allowed. Only guys that have scaled there rigs or are totally certain of the weights.
Letโ€™s see if I can keep the format real simple to type down and that will make it simpler for guys to refer back to and to keep track of.
Here we goโ€ฆโ€ฆ

TV - 2006 Dodge Mega Cab 3500 4x4, real scaled weight with full fuel, hitch, DH-DW and misc. gear = 7,500lbs. TV GVWR is 10,200lbs
5ver โ€“ KZ New Vision TH 38ft 14,500lbs loaded GVW. GVWR is 18,000lbs
Normal running TV & TH GCW weight= 22,500lbs, TV GCWR is 23,000lbs
Real Wet Pin Weight=2,950lbs

Some things I consider when sizing:
1.sticker dry weight on 5th wheel does not usually include options - it varies with manufacturer, and the year the trailer was manufactured whether they included options or not in the weight. Cannot be trusted when one is cutting it close. Weighing is the only way to go.
2.One should not exceed the TV payload weight, no matter what the sales people say. So by the time you add the hitch weight of the 5W, the bed liner, the 5W hitch, cargo, wifey and kids, dogies (i have 2) and stuff, you may have actually exceeded that as well.
3. One should also not exceed the tire rating either.

I check the following before I am satisfied
1. Tire limit
2. Axle limit
3. Payload Limit
4. GCVR limit

Looking at the pure numbers, I would reconsider the configuration.

Total GCWR 27,220!!! Truck rated at 23,500. I have no idea where the weight is. I can only hope that the scale was wrong. We did not load 7500 lbs of gear in here. Not to mention the fact that all tanks were empty and I have a 110 gallon fresh tank.....

You have to drive off the scale, go to somewhere on the lot and unhook. Then go back across the scale and ask for a re-weigh, doesn't cost anything on a CAT scale. Then compare the numbers on the truck axles. The differences are the pin weight. If the front axle drops 500 lbs and the rear 2000 then the pin weight is 2500. The trailer weight won't change if it's level on the truck. It don't know if the pin box is on the truck or it's on the front legs.

Probably because CAT scales are everywhere but scales to weigh each tire are rare. Besides if the trailer is standing up straight it has to be fairly even if the springs are identical, especially with the 13' tall 5vers.

Why are there so few posts with the real tire by tire loading? I know it takes a bit more effort but how do you know your fully loaded axle split is 50/50 not 45/55?
Also how do you know your side to side split on each axle is 50/50 and not 35/65 as I have seen in some extreem cases?

Just wondering..

Just took my f350 loaded full of fuel with my 40ft sandpiper loaded threw the cat scales here is what it said steer axle 4920 drive axle 5960 trailer 9180 gross weight 20060 is this a good weight for my truck?
2006 f350 superduty 6.0.. 2012 sandpiper 345RET loaded

hi guys am in the process of buying a 2008 Montana Mountaineer 345DBQ total dry weight is 11045 and payload is another 3265 hitch weight is 2310 according to specs wondering truck size I would need to purchase will be used why I am asking

On my way home from the dealer with the new camper I stopped at the scales. This weight is with a brand new empty unit, the truck has no gear and only a ยผ tank of fuel. I am guessing all loaded up and ready to go for a weekend I will be around 19,000lbs or a little less. If there is a scale somewhere on my way camping loaded up I might stop to check the loaded weight.

On way home with new camper Montana 3625RE. All tanks empty Ford F-450 King Ranch 3/4 full fuel 2 people: Front axle = 5460 Rear axle = 7020 Total weight = 21,100

I have the same truck 2002, so all I should pull is 7640lbs. I'M looking at a Cameo and think it's out of my towing range, darn it.
IM looking to be a full timer and shouldnt bought the truck first, what I thought was a good deal with only 78000 miles seems like I made a mistake. Looking for a 37 to 40 in length.
