Whats Your Real Weights? Truck and Trailer. The Real Deal

I don’t know if it’s been done before or not but I was thinking about keeping a running list of real truck weights by year and type, and trailer weights by brand, size and what the total combined weight is of each guys rig. I was hoping the info would be a help for guys wondering about what the real weights are for a certain type of truck and to keep track of the more popular brand 5th wheel trailers. Another thing that will come out of it will be to see just how many guys really know what they are towing and if they know what their weight capacities are.
I’m sure it will take some time to compile a list and it will grow as guys add there info but I’m hoping it will help the newer guys in the long run to be directed back over to this thread in the future.
I’ll keep the TV lists to mainly the big 3 and from ¾ ton and up and I’ll try to keep the 5ers in a group by real GVW, length, and then manufacture. Any ideas are welcome as long as it makes things easier. And only real information can be given, so no guessing allowed. Only guys that have scaled there rigs or are totally certain of the weights.
Let’s see if I can keep the format real simple to type down and that will make it simpler for guys to refer back to and to keep track of.
Here we go……

River Rat,

I pull that with my SRW 04 Dodge CTD. The 5th has a GVW of 15,000# but weighs in at 12,440# ready to travel. A DRW will have no trouble at all.
Travel safe and return home happy.

I think I have found the place that has the pros that can give me a answer.

I have a new Dodge 3500 Deisel Dually with a 3.73 gear ratio.
I want to buy a fifth wheel With the following:

GVWR 16,000 lbs
Dry weight 12,100 lbs
Hitch weight of 2,065

Will I safely be able to pull this trailer down the road??
The dealer says I can pull any thing in his lot.
Says the drivers from Indiana use the same truck.

1986 GMC K3500 crew cab DWR 4X4, empty weight with hitch, family, 50 gal. of gas(yes it gets thirsty) and all gear is about 7500#, with trailer hooked it's about 9800#, with a 10,000# GVWR and 19,000# GCVWR

5th wheel is a 2003 Jayco 325, axle weight is 9000# plus 2300# pin weight, 11,300# with a GVW of 12,000

total of both 18,800GCVWR, I would say I have everything about as close as I would like to get, by the way this was loaded for a two week vacation in the Smokey Mountains (food, water, cloths, etc.) and it pulled all the hills from cleveland to tenn. down 71 with just a few slow downs because of temp climbs by the top of some of the long grades.

Not to sure who gets to pick the pin weight for the specs on the brochure, but it would be nice if they could be a little more accurate. My 2000lb pin weight puts 2600lbs on my truck. I do not have the 5th wheel overloaded as I only have a few items in it.
I have a truck with a 9200lb gvw and have a combined weight of 10,000lbs with the 5th wheel attached. At first I was a little concerned (still concerned), but after reading 23 pages on this forum, I am not alone. I guess I could buy a trailer with a posted pin weight of 1000lbs and be on the safe side. (NOT going to happen).
The answer to this is??????????????????????

Rear: 5,200 Max: 6,200 (1000 under)
FW axles: 8,280 Max: Lots more than that.
Total: 18,060 Max: 20,000
Truck GVWR: 9000 Truck wt when loaded: 9780
Pin Wt: 2120

Camper unloaded was 10,050 (Yes, I did weigh it the day I bought it)

Well here are my numbers

2004 GMC 2500 HD Diesel
The 5th wheel is a 2006 Legends 30RE2SLF-5 ( Overall length 33.5)

The truck

Front axle: 2030/4470 ( kg/lbs)
Rear axle: 1490/3280 (kg/lbs)

The Truck + Trailer

Front axle: 2030/4470
Rear axle: 2570/5660

So by adding Front + Rear it give me 4600/10'130 (kg/lbs)

I exceed the GVWR of the truck wich is a small 9'200lbs

How bad do you think it is ?

Ah yes the trailer axle is 4010/8832 (kg/lbs)

All other numbers are in the range of the tires, axle, the overall weight is in the range

Just did the weights tonight, and I was surprised!

2004 F250 FX4 CC SB with mostly full tank of fuel and no people.

2006 Weekend Warrior LE3305 with 100lbs water and 75% propane, fuel station mostly empty, all pots and pans and linens and stuff for camping were in there, plus all my stuff in the underbelly storage for the trailer and for camping was in there too.

Truck only
FA 4460 lbs
RA 3140 lbs

Truck with trailer
FA 4520 lbs
RA 6060 lbs
Trailer 8540 lbs
Total 19120 lbs
This means my pin weight was around 2900 lbs!!! Thats alot I think!

I'm gonna weight it again, fully loaded, the next time we go out. It'll be awhile but I'll update this when I do it for a "full load" weight.
