Where to put for sale ads

I am looking for sites people have found or sold RV's on.

I did Craigslist and am looking into RV trader.
  • You might want to go back and re-read the rules regarding posting things for sale here. (It's not allowed)

Escapees. Largest full time RV club in the US. They have a classified section you can join for free. I buy and sell everything related to RV's there. You are dealing with seasoned RV folks that know what they want and know what they are selling. Stuff sells fast on that classified.

No need to join Escapees Club, just create an account just to use their forum.
Then scroll all the way down to RV Marketplace.

  • Many of the manufacturer specific forums also have a classified section. I sold my toy hauler and tow vehicle through CraigsList even though I had them listed also on forum classifieds.

If buying new, remember that you get a tax break when you have a trade in. If you think you cannot sell for more than what the dealer is offering plus your tax rate, that may be a better option.

Washington works that way but not sure which (if any) other states offer that type of trade-in sales tax break.
  • If the trade in price is taken against the new purchase price in your state, it works the same way. If they are two separate transactions, you do not get the tax benefit. I have always been able to sell my vehicles on my own for more than dealer trade in plus the tax, but not everyone has the timing or time to be able to do that.

Most other states do allow a sales tax credit. I think this is an accurate the list of those that don't allow; California, Hawaii, Maryland, Montana, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Both Kentucky & Michigan have changed their laws in the past few years to allow the credit.
  • I have sold 2 toy haulers and Class A on craig's list....I did have the class A on rvtrader and RVT but it sold off CL but did get some good inquiries off RVTrader.

Research your price and keep it on the low end of the market. Do not fall for all those douche bags that will call you up and tell you they will put it on their site and get you better results, they are scams.
