Seeking sales advice

The only holdup you may have is has WI ever issued/printed the actual title and if not that could take a few days or weeks. We sold our 2013 to a buyer in AR, we are in PA, and the 2013 was financed in MD. The buyers bank sent me a certified check for the equity above financed amount and his bank worked with my bank directly to pay off the loan. I delivered the trailer prior to ever receiving the actual title, as it took 2 weeks for it to come in the mail. We had a notarized and certified release of lien from my bank.

At least in PA on a new vehicle, All that exists is a certificate of origin that the bank holds if financed. PA does not print the actual title unless the financing bank requests it, or they notify of release of lien which has to be done electronically. Then PA prints it and mails to the owner. Owner as in who was listed on the original lien. I had to then sign it and mail it to the new owner about 3 weeks after the transaction.

We sold it today, the buyer put down money and it's enough for me to go to our credit union (small & local) first thing tomorrow to get the lean released. After that it's a short drive over to the DMV to get a title. When the buyer comes to pick up the unit they will pay us the balance. It is actually going to be easier than I thought. BTW...it is MY property and I have the right to sell it.

CT and Western, in CA you can't sell anything you don't own. Yes, coordinate with the lender and the sale is fine. OP wanted to sell. She appears unsophisticated. She needed to be stopped until the lender is on board. To proceed otherwise in my state may be theft against the lender and/or the buyer...."I gave her money but I can't register the TT." And of course she spent the money.

Your lender lent money to you and your DH because they trusted you and your DH to pay them back. Now you and your DH have decided to sell it to someone else that your lender doesn't know...doesn't trust. In my state you have NO right to sell your vehicle to anyone without the lender's permission or paying off the lender before the vehicle is sold...you don't "own" what you are trying to sell. Working with your lender you can sell it.

No one legitimate, no one, will "buy" something from you that you don't own. Careful, again here in our state, it might be considered theft to sell what you don't own because it might hurt the lender...the "real" owner until you pay them off.

First of all it looks like they live in Wisconsin. Second, if people could only sell vehicles that had a free and clear title hundreds of thousands of vehicles a year would never be sold. Third, how about trading in the vehicle? Only trade in vehicles with clear titles? Lastly, the OP never hinted at not paying the lender so I have to ask how you came to the conclusion you did? You may be living proof of why not to believe what you read on the internet. Especially on forums such as this.

The smoothest way to protect you and the seller is for the seller to pay off the loan, and the bank then send the title to them. Then you collect any equity they owe you, sign the title over to the buyers and the buyers drive off with the RV. You provide the buyers with a contract for sale. This is exactly how the transaction works at car dealerships where a vehicle is traded in with money still owed on it. This happens thousands of times daily throughout the United States.

We sold our popup before we cleaned it out. I put the ad up on Tuesday night, to get it out there for the weekend, thinking I'd clean it out Wed or Thur. Well a buyer showed up with cash on Wednesday night, and wanted to take it. I went in and told my wife we had about 15 minutes to get our stuff out. $100 will motivate you to clean it out quickly :)

Wow if this is isn't a joke it is for sure really bad advice. Vehicles of all types are sold every day that have loans out on them with the bank holding the title. Just have to pay off the balance of your loan in the process of the sale.

Edit: I guess that's what you said, maybe just a different way of communicating it?
