The only holdup you may have is has WI ever issued/printed the actual title and if not that could take a few days or weeks. We sold our 2013 to a buyer in AR, we are in PA, and the 2013 was financed in MD. The buyers bank sent me a certified check for the equity above financed amount and his bank worked with my bank directly to pay off the loan. I delivered the trailer prior to ever receiving the actual title, as it took 2 weeks for it to come in the mail. We had a notarized and certified release of lien from my bank.
At least in PA on a new vehicle, All that exists is a certificate of origin that the bank holds if financed. PA does not print the actual title unless the financing bank requests it, or they notify of release of lien which has to be done electronically. Then PA prints it and mails to the owner. Owner as in who was listed on the original lien. I had to then sign it and mail it to the new owner about 3 weeks after the transaction.
