Window slipping

1. The window in my door will slide down, leaving a small gap at the top. Is there an adjustment I can make to fix this?

Or did he buy the truck to match the window?

Look for butyl tape for sealer. Pretty simple especially if you have a helper.

Do you mean the typical fixed window in your entry door.....inside/outside frame with glass between......

The inside frame comes off (screws)
Glass is set in outside frame using sealant and sometimes small blocks on bottom
If sealant dries out and/or blocks slip the glass will slide down

When removing inside frame have a helper outside to hold frame glass so it doesn't fall out

Clean up, install new sealant to hold glass in place...new butyl tape around inside & outside frame.

I followed pretty much the same procedure. Used black silicone and re-bedded the window. Problem solved.

  • You can get replace cat's wiskers to go in the track. Most glass shops should have it. You may want to take existing out to get correct size of replacement.
Here is example of track for Hehr. You may find make of window in lower corner.Window seal
