X-chocks for Toy Hauler?

Hi everyone. We just bought our first 5th wheel (toy hauler) and had a question about the x-chocks. We are not new to RVing (2 Class As and a TT) but never a fifth wheel. When we had our TT, we used x-chocks to help stabilize the TT as it did not have auto leveling. Our new Fuzion has an auto leveling system with 6 hydraulic legs. It feels rock solid without additional stabilization so I'm leaning towards not getting them for this RV. Does anyone on here use the x-chocks with an auto leveling system? Is it worth the cost/effort?

Thanks in advance!

Kevin

You can send your X-chocks to me if you like, I can put them to use.

Didn't use them last weekend, had to dig a hole for one side so that locked it in. That plus my Strong Arms and steady as a rock with some BIG winds exactly broadside to the trailer.

Got them, never use them. I can't remember the last time I chocked the wheels. Also can't remember last time we parked someplace that wasn't flat & level.

a little off subject but those of you with the 6 point system how is it in the wind? My BIL's new trailer has them and we were in a RV park recently in Bullhead, AZ and it was blowing pretty good (imagine that windy in the desert!). The wheels were basically off the ground and he complained about being a lot or rocking. My old school jack type and Strong Arms do a GREAT job, trailer was rock solid.

If one side is off the ground, it's going to rock. Same if the nose is way up in the air.

If I can tell that the gear in the front is going to be fully extended, I'll put a stack of blocks under both of the front jacks.

Same with the wheels being in the air: If one side is off the ground, I'll pound some leveling blocks underneath to support the wheels.

That's all to keep it from rocking when people walk around inside. I can't say that we've had much movement from the wind though.

I live on a steep hill and it makes me nervous to park without the x-chocks. I put them in after I level up. I know I'm just being superstitious, but I'd hate to see my rig go for a ride without me.

Good enough for me. Thanks for the responses and for confirming what I suspected.

Agree, no need. We've only had our TH with 6 point leveling for about a year, but have camped in fields, as well as campgrounds. Very solid.
