zamp solar

I just bought a forest river grey wolf. They come prewired for zamp solar panels. Any body using these? Especially the portable folding ones, or should I look at others. Not sure if i gonna go with 2 batteries or 4 yet thanks
  • Read Handy Bob's Solar Blog then set your camper up from his point of view and you should be good to go.

  • Hopefully the Solar Guru's will elaborate on your posting.

    JMO, I'd go with the 4-GC batteries & 200 + solar.

Pianotuna amongst others has a formula for balancing the panels output, batteries & contoller as a complete system.
  • gonna boondock a lot, retiring next march and going to Alaska for the summer then hunting in rocky mts. and northern Minnesota. won't be using ac much , mostly batteries for lights, water pump, etc.

How often do you boondock & for how long of a time ?
  • Check out Renogy as they offer portable suitcase unit and are a bit less expensive for the same quality unit. I checked Zamp, Renogy and Go-Power before purchasing my portable solar. Wiring should not be an issue.
