Hey all. Been a member for a while. And now finally my wife has decided to become a traveling nurse. SHe has about ayear to finish up as shes currently a Dialysis tech. Im military but got out before a pension so am in that security/we I can find role.
Just starting the whole idea but as we dont have kids its time for us to live it yp. Were 36 and 32 respectively. Weve been campingand owned everything from atent to a pop up to a 22' TT. And now looking at either a Class A or Fiver as a full timer lokkong for advice and ANYTHING anyone can provide for advice. TIA
Excuse my horrible typing. Doing this on a pos LG Gpad tablet that sucks.
  • Travel nursing is a great way to earn money and live full time in an RV.
I did it for several years.

A great source for full time living is the RV Dreams site. Howard and Linda Payne have been full timing for 9 years. They have one week informational rallies twice a year.
I highly recommend their site to anyone interested in learning about the full time Lifestyle.

  • Check out the sticky's for the cost of full timing too. A lot of collective good info there.
  • With a Class A you will have to have a toad. We tow a Chevy Colorado 4x4 pickup. Advantages of Class A is if you move around a lot. Easier to set up in my opinion.
Advantages of 5th wheel is that you have the tow vehicle to use once you park. Advantages of 5th wheel if you stay in one place for awhile, which you may do if she gets temp assignments. We have met many workers traveling this way.
Find a floor plan that you love.
  • If you have a year or more I'd suggest You read through the topics on the FT section here as well as other RV sites, then formulate some firm questions you have. Otherwise you'll get everything under the sun - most of which won't apply to you. You especially need to figure out how long you'll be in each location, what area(s) of the country you'll focus on, and what type of living you want ( more boondock, upscale, etc). It'll help everyone give you advice that will be meaningful to your situation.
