Full Time TT Suggestions

I am looking at the possibility of living full time in an RV. I currently have a Sunset Creek and that would not do the job and so looking at what I would have to move up to in TT. I live in Central and northern B.C. Are any TT manufacturers providing warranties for full timers?
Thanks
  • We lived full-time in a 27' Fleetwood TT for a year. Fleetwood is not a brand that was considered all that great. We loved it and the TT worked fine. We upgraded to a fifth wheel because the TT was too small for us on those long cold dark winter days.
  • Northwood (Arctic Fox) or Outdoors RV for more affordable 4-season use. Excel (Peterson) for $$$.
  • Warranties are not really a concern as with MOST manufacturers you're only talking about a one year warranty with a FEW offering two years. After that you have no warranty whether you fill time or not. You need, of course to find a good four season trailer and probably not a light weight one either. When living full time in an RV it's cargo carrying capacity is one of the more important aspects with most folks since they carry all you have instead of what you need for a week or a month. Beyond those two important items, I'd recommend you investigate the reliability of the brand first then once you find a good one, THEN you look at floor plans. For too many choose based only on the floor plan and regret it later. You can learn to love a less than favorite floor plan a lot easier than a trailer that has structural problems or components that constantly require repair.

  • Might try Outdoors RV Manufacturing. I don't have one, and don't know anyone who does, but I have looked at them.
We did a 4 months stint in our 30' TT (Heartland Caliber) in the winter (0-10' F) and weathered just fine...once I heat-taped the water lines in the belly.
  • Generally, all RV mfgs warn against living full time in their TT's. I'm unsure if it's a thing that would void a warranty though.
