- gkainzExplorerAs I recall growing up in Custer, there's also significant difference in weather between the northern hills and the southern hills. We had to take the snowmobiles to Spearfish and Deadwood areas many years to have good riding snow.

Blizzards domt happen in April in Nebraska or SD. , Maybe a snow event with deep but local narrow band accumulation. Temps are just below freezing for that short time rise quickly to melt. Roads are fine witjin a day or 2.
They are predictible, easily planned around events. Weve even had guests come to see the beauty of the snow on the pines, Washingtons nose.
Plan for adventure!
I concur. They are fairly predictable that time of year, and the snow definitely doesn't last long on the roads. - SDcampowneroperExplorerBlizzards domt happen in April in Nebraska or SD. , Maybe a snow event with deep but local narrow band accumulation. Plan for adventure! - caysea7254ExplorerToo late to fly our closing of our home is soon. We will just take our time getting up that way. Our fear is blizzards!! as long as that doesn't happen and no -o temps we will be good, hopefully!! LOL
- TripleEExplorerYou can fly in, stay overnight and get your licenses and register your vehicles the next day. You can get your address set up long before then and start changing everything over now. Talk to your mail service company.
- caysea7254ExplorerWe will start heading that way next week and take our time getting there. We will drop south alittle to Arkansas and see some places then slowly head back up north.
- caysea7254ExplorerGreat! Thanks everyone! We r in indiana now so cold!! We r still in our empty house! We had planned on just staying in camper this last week before closing but wind chills of -10 r not our cup of tea!! Lol
- SDcampowneroperExplorerApril is very changeable. Its predictable. Watch for the storms coming out of the Rockies around Denver heading toward Winnipeg. 70 one day, 30 the next. Dont worry about it come on you may have to wait a day or 2 somewhere, or in SD to move on. The good news is that bad weather averages a 3-4 days n the month, so many good days.
- caysea7254ExplorerGeez thanks. We just feel the sooner we get our residency then we can enjoy our fulltime journey. No loose ends. T
- 2oldmanExplorer IIWeather history shows anything from 25 to 80 in the month of April. Wow.
