As I recall growing up in Custer, there's also significant difference in weather between the northern hills and the southern hills. We had to take the snowmobiles to Spearfish and Deadwood areas many years to have good riding snow.

I concur. They are fairly predictable that time of year, and the snow definitely doesn't last long on the roads.

Too late to fly our closing of our home is soon. We will just take our time getting up that way. Our fear is blizzards!! as long as that doesn't happen and no -o temps we will be good, hopefully!! LOL

You can fly in, stay overnight and get your licenses and register your vehicles the next day. You can get your address set up long before then and start changing everything over now. Talk to your mail service company.

We will start heading that way next week and take our time getting there. We will drop south alittle to Arkansas and see some places then slowly head back up north.

Great! Thanks everyone! We r in indiana now so cold!! We r still in our empty house! We had planned on just staying in camper this last week before closing but wind chills of -10 r not our cup of tea!! Lol

April is very changeable. Its predictable. Watch for the storms coming out of the Rockies around Denver heading toward Winnipeg. 70 one day, 30 the next. Dont worry about it come on you may have to wait a day or 2 somewhere, or in SD to move on. The good news is that bad weather averages a 3-4 days n the month, so many good days.
