Want to plan a walleye fishing trip next year. We live in PA,would appreciate any campground within 12hrs from us. Will be camping in a truck camper,also would like to rent a boat. Thanks for any advice. Any suggestions on which month,avoiding the worst mosquito time,and which month may be best fishing?

Boat operators license is federal ..... "license to operate under Canada Shipping Act" .... safety and boat registration is provincial. Poster is not bringing his own boat but wants to rent one .... that opens a big can of worms.
No worms - if they are non-residents of Canada. I've fished all over Canada since the early 50's and it's never been a requirement. If I hire a guide - he's got a license to be a guide and operate the boat. It would be like going to Fla and you as a Canadian wanting to rent a boat. There's no legal requirement to have an boat operators license - b/c there isn't any.
