Rving In Mexico and South America? Where Did It Go?

It's been months off and on attempting to figure out this wonderful new forum.  I know, change is hard to accept sometimes!

That said, are there any Mexico rvers still lurking around here and if so what have you been up to?  Any interesting trips or experiences?

We have been snowbirding in Florida and Georgia. I had dreamt of wintering in Mexico, but I don't know where. The campgrounds near Brownsville, Texas promote that they are warm like Florida. I don't know if there is that much to do in the Rio Grande Valley. We like canoeing and birding.

It took me two months to figure out that my RV. net login is obsolete. My Good Sam Club membership got me into here.

Well I decided to look for my favourite Mexico forum after a long hiatus - we shipped our Winnebago to Europe in 2007, then bought a Hymer in the Netherlands and basically have been travelling Europe, Morocco, Turkey ever since. Good to see Moishe and Chris are still around! Fond memories of our Mexico sojourns!

Hey Frank,

After our Spain adventure we started looking for a motorhome rental in Europe.  Indie seems to be a popular company but with many complaints and phantom charges.  Friends have also bought motorhomes to tour Europe and it seems so easy and care free.

Maybe someone who reads this will have some other rental options we could look at.

We should revive this forum.  Right now things are going to well in Mexico for travelers but I don't want to focus on that.  It's become old hat.

Cheers

Chris

I haven't looked into rentals for years, but probably the safest bet is the German company McRent. Just anecdotal, no research, so caveat emptor!

Hi Chris. Nice to see you online. Unfortunately this format is not very good

Moisheh

Hi Moisheh,

Everything has changed since then.  Too bad.  It was fun posting on rv.net.  We have stopped rving in Mexico but still make our way to the border to enjoy a trip now and then.  We will be taking the rv through Route 66 to Quartzite in late November.

Keep safe and have fun!

I went camping in El Chico National Park in Mexico in February. I also checked Rancho El Oxtote Camp ground in Guanajuato, as you suggested before. I was planning only one, but my guide from https://gowithguide.com/ helped me finish two. I am planning on a trip to Spain soon.

We were in Spain a year ago.  Rented a car and toured from Madrid to Asturias to Picos de Europa, down to Leon and back to Madrid.  We covered about 2000 km.  We truly enjoyed it.  I could live in Spain.  February we will head to France.

I'm hoping to find out where the rvers went, I know some went to Facebook.  Also, who is interested in coming back to this site?  It was a pain to figure this all out.  I know most of us don't accept change easily but the old site was a breeze.
