1999 Pace Arrow Backup Camera

I just purchased an old 1999 Pace Arrow and it does not have a monitor for the backup camera. I have been on the internet trying to find the wiring diagram or anything on installing the backup system. The end of the wire has disappeared. I have looked at the camera and there seems to be a fiberglass case around it riveted to the frame, which I am not adventurous to remove. On the internet, I was told I could just drop a weight down the hole and it would fall out of the bottom. I have not found that hole. I was told to use the existing wire, but I cannot find it.

How do I remove the camera and replace it with one or two new wired cameras? I am thinking of a 4 camera system with 2 cameras out the back, one facing back and one down. The other two off of the right and left mirrors.
Any systems you recommend getting or staying away from?

    I replaced everything for my camera system. Wasn't difficult but can be tricky. My advantage was the camera wasn't enclosed and the rear cap is pretty much open between the interior and exterior walls. Not sure how you're going to get the enclosure open. Drill out the rivets?

    To get the power and video wires up to the camera I used a snake to pull them to various points by removing the a tail light, upper corner height light and to the camera. The hardest part was feeding the snake from the 1" camera hole to the 1" height light hole. Under the coach I followed the tail light wires forward along the chassis frame to a hole in the firewall that was behind the dash to connect to the monitor and a 12VDC power source.

    A two camera system is pretty easy and low cost while a four camera system, in particular the two side cameras and a multiple input monitor, would be very hard on my budget. I only run one camera and have about a four foot blind spot directly behind the coach but I can see down the road behind me very well. When backing up to an object once if leaves the view of the camera I know I only have a few more feet to work with but usually stop at that point.

    Only someone with a 1999 Pace Arrow that has done this task can give you exact instructions. I have installed the dual rear cameras, and have posted a writeup on IRV2. The steps and pictures may give you a general idea of what you're facing.

    If you're going to install 2 cameras, then don't waste time working with the old cable as it will not be sufficient to run 2 cameras. You'll be running cable down the back cap, under the motorhome, and back up into the cab area.
