I am looking for some advice from experienced RV ers

We have a trip planned from Atlanta to Black Hills onto Yellowstone Yosemite Tetons and then return

2 Options
1.Leave on Jan 21 2016 and then be back to Greenbriar WV for a golf tournament on August16
2. Go to Greebriar first on Aug 16 and then head out west on the 20th of August with no deadline to get back

What do ya think?

I think option 1. with 8 months on the road will be awesome. But I also think Yellowstone in January will be way too cold with most tourist services closed.

you'd obviously be staying south of the freezing line until April, at least, right? Unless you like to ski...

May and June are the best months for sight seeing (JMHO)... after that the fire season starts and you may not see anything but smoke or haze for the rest of the summer.

In the fall, rain/snow usually clears the air by mid September... then you have 2 weeks until the snow chases you south.

#1 you would want to get there before the summer tourist season starts. But too early could be cold with possible remaining snow.

#2 you would want to get there after the summer tourist season, which would work out just about right. And the weather may be a little warmer.

No deadline sounds the best, so, option #2.
