2015 Coachhouse 24 B van Sprinter rv

Davydd--that's gorgeous. What year? I'm envious of a lot of things about your van, and especially what appears to be a phantom-type screen door. We don't have one on our '14 Pleasureway, and are anticipating travelling with cats in the very near future. If we could find a way to get one of those, we'd be all over it. I saw them in the '15 Plesureways, but they have a different doorjamb in order to make it work. Not sure if I could do it on my '14 or not. If it's not too much trouble, could you post pix of how yours latches?

I just finished reading the "advancing ALVAR " thread and while the rv is impressive even more so was the owners effort and capability in the design. Impressive!

The Coach House plan is a recycled plan with center beds that were popular a decade ago. It is actually a pretty functional plan in things I tried to achieve, but in order to have a separate shower like you have in the Arriva you kill 20% of your total interior space where a standard wet bathroom will use about 6% of the total space. To me that is too much of a sacrifice of space for a shower you would seldom use. Also Coach House uses "old school" technology meaning in order to effectively camp with your RV you would have to seek traditional campgrounds and at least an electrical hookup.

Further to my comment re your beautiful rv I was hoping to see a COMPLETE viewing of the interior showing kitchen, bathroom and any other features such as cabinets so I can get a clearer picture of the ALVAR overall rv as it turned out??

The video was about the features I had designed and requested to be put in. The core area between the articulating beds and the modified wardrobe with computer desk wasn't modified and that is all well documented on the Advanced RV website.

There is a lot more to our RV and I have been keeping a running message thread blog called "Advancing Alvar" since its inception on the ClassBforum and Sprinters-Source forum. Also there is a Facebook group called "B"ing in an Advanced RV that has discussion and features by several other ARV owners that show the customization of each B.

Thanks. Yes. I was following your "Advancing Alvar" thread and noting the changes you were having made. I simply was trying to visualize the actual finished product in total with the changes you had implemented. Enjoy your comfortable new 'honme' away from home.

Yes. I had two concerns. First, the video forgot to mention that there is a fold-down table for use at the back for dinner etc as the front fold-over thing is good for tea or computers. Second, if one watches closely, the bed on the left with the cushions is fine as a single but the other one would be too small so you might have to have one bed with both sides added with cushions. Then you have the problem with a total bed where one sleeper has to climb forward to exit and go to the bathroom--usually at night when the other soul is trying to sleep. Could be a problem.
You don't see that happen with ALVAR of course OR the slimmer/slimmer wide body rvs like the Pleasureway PURSUIT, which has a good dry bath.
Compromises are a way of life but better to get what you want--ok what you can afford!!!

This is my favorite layout also. Im praying somebody does this layout in a Transit. A complete dry bath is nearly at the top of our list for our needs. I think this solves the bed problem very well. First saw this layout on the FitRV. Think they had a 2003 Forest River MB Cruiser.
