What do you mean "right type". ULSD is about all that is sold in North America - exc off road in Mexico.
He meant B5 bio-diesel, or less. There are lots of diesel pumps with up to B20 (Minnesota, for example) in areas of the US, which carries a caveat from Mercedes regarding shorter oil/fuel filter change intervals, and a requirement for monitoring oil level more closely, or warranties may be voided. MB does not recommend B5 or greater, although someone said recently that they have relaxed that position on excessive bio-diesel use in their newer chassis/engine combo.
