3M Invisible Bra removal

I have a 2008 Damon Tuscany motor coach with a 3M clear vinyl invisible bra. It has recently shown some dirty blotches that will not come clean as it looks like it is on the underneath side closest to the coach. I wonder if other RV's have experienced this same problem and what they did to "clean" up the front end of their coach. Thanks for your help and suggestions!
  • Also got quotes around $1000 to remove. We tried it ourselves but after 2 whole days 2 people, lots of cursing and sore fingers we would have paid double that!! We got most of it off except about 12 inches along the bottom then gave up. We used a heat gun on low setting, a plastic scraper and Goo Gone to remove the residue. While we were in Goshen Indiana, we took our rig to Mike's Custom Painting and they removed the rest and repainted the front.
  • Ours looked awful. It had mold or mildew under it. I just couldn't clean it. I think I paid about $1500 to have it removed and it looks great. I never put another coating on the front of any MH.
  • I just removed mine from my 2007 coach. Mine was in pretty good condition but was starting to get blotchy in a few areas so I decided to get it off before it got bad like some I have seen. I can only tell you what worked for me.

I let the sun warm the front of the coach and, using plastic razor blades, lifted the edge. Once the edge was lifted, I was able to pull it off in fairly large pieces. Pull slowly and at an angle. I tried a hair dryer and heat gun but the warmth of the sun worked better. Once off, I used mineral spirits to soften the glue, scraping off most of it with the plastic razor blades. I finished up glue removal with lacquer thinner and a terry rag. It is a lot of work and takes time but my paint under the film was pristine.
  • I had Diamond Shied. Did the same thing. I was quoted $800 to have it removed. I did it myself. Still haven't done the top and it looks like hell. Mine came of without paint damage.

I tell anyone who will listen that it is a bad idea to use Invisible Bra film.
  • I had a quote to do the one on my 2000 and it was $1500.00 to R&R the film.

However if it doesn't come off clean and easy than the front cap will need to be painted...either a touch up or total depending on how much, if any damage is done to the paint. Once they start there is no stopping or going back.

So $1500.00 if easy and up to $3500 if difficult.
