A good deal?

Hi,

We are looking at a Class A and toad package and wondered if this was a good deal.
We are in negotiations with the owners at present.

2007 Tiffin Allegro 52,000 miles 32BA (excellent condition)
Ford chassis, V-10 gas engine
2007 Toyota Corolla S(manual)68,000 miles (very good condition)
Blue Ox assist package
RoadMaster Falcon All-terrain tow bar (recently reconditioned at factory)
13.5 & 15 btu A/C's
Heat Pump
Central Vacuum
Onan 5500 Marque Gold with few hours. (Aug,13 new plugs, coil, tune up)
Sept 13, right/front window resealed at Camping World
Sept 14, broken tooth on slide gear replaced.
New Windshield wipers
Feb 15, 2 new house batteries
6 new Michelin 245/70 XZE tires @ 44,000 miles
Never had pets, smoked in or even shoes worn inside.
Conditions & waxes yearly plus roof fibreglass(?) same
$47,500

    I'm not sure how you would figure on the sales tax for this transaction. You might want to get something from the seller that separates the two vehicles into two transactions, so that you only pay what is due in sales tax.

    Looks good but offer the seller $42,500 and wait for a counter offer. Everything is negotiable.

    Drive it on some rougher roads before you buy it. The Ford F53 is well known for it's rough ride. 2007 may be better than my 2000, but it would be worth evaluating.
    Otherwise it looks like a smoking deal. Have to wonder why. Get it inspected!

    My usual response to questions like this is `Does the rig meet your anticipated or experienced camping lifestyle'? Does the layout meet your needs? Can you use the necessary facilities when at a Rest Stop on the highway? etc. etc.
    If the answer is yes to most questions go for it since the price seems good to the other posters.
    BUT if there are too many things you don't like about the RV, even tho the price is right, pass it by or you'll curse the decision every time you go camping.

    It isn't the miles on the tires that count on RVs, it is the year of tire manufacture.

    It looks like a good deal compared to similar coaches in that category. The tires do not add any value as you would expect the coach to have decent tires. The same goes with the waxing, no smoking or pets(easy to hide). If this is the floor plan that you are looking for, ask about maintenance records. If it is in as good of condition as the owner claims, than he must have all of the service records.
    If the owner claims he did his own service than you have to trust a complete stranger that he knew what he was doing, when it comes to mechanical and house issues, and that he actually did it according to factory recommended specs.

    Paul, doing a quick search on bing.com of a Tiffin Allegro 32 BA, the price seems really good, especially, if it also includes the toad.

    The Toyota's odometer probably didn't register when towing so it could have the miles from the motorhome on the toad (maybe 120,000?).

    Anyway, the price looks good to me.
