Adding LP oven

Question

Has anyone installed an LP oven where there was only a cooktop? We want a Class A coach that has a Convection and oven. Our current '96 Pace Arrow was built that way and we love it. We have found a few but not in rigs we are interested in. I am good at conversions as a rule and made them at home. I assume that the LP connection can be adapted to service both with correct fittings. I could search at an RV salvage place like Colaw's which is near me to get one that would be correct for my model and prepared to modify the cabinet as needed for it. I'm trying to have a better coach on a budget and properly equipped models are more money than I want to spend. I can convert at my convenience with a slower and cheaper outlay of funds. Anybody else done that?

Finding one to fit will be the problem, also think about weight distribution after installation.

Older RV's (more than 10 years) usually have the drawer/s under the cook top. Those drawers are removed and the cabinet pieces cut out between the drawers to install a Oven/cooktop. They usually made sure those drawers will be the same size as the Oven as they did not make cabinets for just a Range only. They did not want to make 2 separate cabinets because they did not know what the final option would be(Range or Oven combo). You will not be able to use your old Range top. You will install a combo. I would NOT buy from a salvage yard but buy a NEW Combo unit. There is NO adapters needed for the LP. You use the same LP line that is on the Range Top and that LP line will connect just as before. The cabinet will NOT have to be beefed up. The Range AND the Oven are supported by the counter top. Most OEM's will install a wood panel UNDER the Range or Oven and you can use the existing panel under the range and drop it down far enough to mount under the new Oven. Doug

You camper is made of wood and metal, a few wires and pipes.  Anything can be changed, swapped, altered, removed, or added. You're only limited to your imagination, construction-remodeling skill, and available parts!  You can do it!

I added the oven to my 5th wheel and my motor home, both came with a cook top, just had to remove draws under cook top and made room for oven, no big deal

Thanks for the comments affirming what I had told my DW but wanted to hear it from someone else. I had shown DW that the drawer dividers were the same width as the cooktop so the oven would be the same. The only unknown but suspected part was the LP hookup which I figured was a common attachment. Colaw's sells new surplus models so I should be able to find one that would fit properly. I am much more optimistic now with more choices.
