Air Dryer Leaking - Advice?

Hi All:

Got back from a 1,600 mile four-day trip late Monday night. Yesterday morning, I noticed the coach suspension had lost its air. Starting the engine up, I started checking and could hear air coming out of the bottom of the air dryer back by the engine.

Here's pics of the side and underside of the dryer:

It looks like I need a repair kit which includes a purge valve, turbo saver valve & one way check valve. RV Chassis Parts (Spartan) has them here:

Rebuild Kit

This looks reasonably straightforward, but I've never worked on this assembly before. Any words of advice before I start tearing things apart?

Thanks in advance.

Pulled mine off and did it on the bench- not a big deal at all, 1/2 hour to 45 min and couple of cold ones and all done.

Thanks guys -- I have the parts handled. Really looking for any *mechanical* advice from someone who has "been there, done that."

Thanks in advance.

Price a FACTORY (not off brand with off-shore parts) REMAN dryer. It will have not only filters, but all new valves, etc.

May not be much more than a kit and filters.

When my dryer leaked air, it wasn't the dryer, it was the air governor.

Thanks Chuck. I planned on changing the filter out at the same time. Any words of wisdom on the rebuild? Special tools needed? Did you do it on or off the coach?

Not sure what the service parts cost through the RV parts store, but you may want to check local Heavy Duty truck parts stores for them also. It seems when it says "RV" you tend to pay more. Aftermarket truck parts distributors do not work on such high margins.
