Aladden system

was working on my tank sensors today on my 2007 HR navigator, got the black and gray tank to read right, but the fresh water sensor will only read 25%.so I switched the gray water sensor with the fresh water sensor and same thing only 25%.
Is there a way to calibrate the sensors? or could it be a bad board? or something else? thanks for the help.
by the way it's a Aladden sys.
  • hey thanks for the info. I can probably figure this out without calling Monaco now. I did clean all 3 sensors, that's how I got the black and grey tanks to read right.
  • The code is 1218. You should clean the sensors, then have an empty tank, you will also have to measure the height of each tank to have an accurate setting. The formula is right on the Aladdin. Then to do it right you need a full tank to set the full, although I usually just set the empty. I've had our 2007 Nav since 2008 and have done it twice, the last time several years ago with no problems. Hope this helps.
  • thanks for all the replies. I will call Monaco and see if I can get the 4 digit code to get in to the monitor and to calibrate the sensors.
  • interesting stuff...
I'd always thought a full alladin was the only one with tank sensors, and was used on the high end coaches, signature, executive, navigator (and I always thought dynasty)

Our system, with an Alladin Jr. matches up pretty well to what MM described on his Dynasty...

I put in a seelevel system, and they work pretty well, though it is even susceptible to dirty walls. We just got ours working right again after 2 months of geo method treatment.
I vaguely remember reading something about an alternative sensor package for the full alladin?
We've never had a lick of troubles with our techma sensor, but thanks for the 6 second tip, one of those "I knew once but had forgotten" moments...
  • If you call Monaco, they may send you the directions for calibrating a Alladin system. ALL Monaco's with the Alladin system came with a program/calibration sheet in the owners manual. You must know the correct gallons of each tank to do any calibration. Call Monaco with your VIN and see if they will fax or e mail you the sheet for your model. Doug
  • In 2008, Monaco must have moved the tank sensor monitors out of the Aladdin system and into it's own panel. Our friends who had a 2007 Dynasty had the tank monitors in the Aladdin so they always kept the system on showing the levels.

Our monitor panel is above the thermostat that shows propane (we have none), fresh, black and gray water. You hit the button for the tank that you want to check and a string of red lights will light up 'zero, 1/3, 2/3 or full. We have had no problems with those sensors in 7 yrs.

Now the Tecma toilet is another issue. It has it's own level monitor that also works with the above panel. In the bathroom we have the two button system, small flush or big flush. The light on that panel will stay green until the black tank is half full then it will turn yellow then red when approaching full. You can still flush when it's red but there is a 6 second delay while holding the button.

Sometimes, the toilet will show red when empty. I have to conduct a 'super back-flush' to clean out the tank which usually works fine. The last time it didn't help the sensor. So, I went to the black tank and found the sensor taped to the side of the tank and found it a little loose. I put a piece of gorilla tape on it to secure the sensor to the tank and it has work fine now for a month. And, I'm not sure if it was the 'system' sensor or the Tecma sensor but all is good with the earth now.

Yes, but you have to have it empty and full. Go into system options and set calibration. Click on the FW tank as appropriate when empty and full. You can do it in any order. Unfortunately mine will stay accurate for a month of so and then get off.
  • Good luck on getting them to read correctly. Yes, you can calibrate them but it's a PITA....you have to also know the base rating. I've played with mine for over 4 yrs and still they're not correct....good luck...Dennis
