All the spammer posts lately

What's with all the spammer posts on this forum anymore. I guess I'm to old but I don't understand the waste of time of this practice. It surely must cause a lot of problems for those who keep forums running cleaning up after these trolls.

I mean honestly do any of you people here actually click those stupid links? The one and only one I did was asking to send money. Maybe campers are though of suckers with lots of money they want to give away.

I didn't grow up with all this media availability. Don't get me wrong, it's a super thing, but there is always someone lazy people who prey on others and use every tool at their disposal. To those people I give you a one finger salute.
  • Depending on how you check in to this forum, you can have an "X" off to the right which allows you to delete a post completely. Once you delete it, it is gone forever.
  • Remember, folks, that some of these spammers get paid a small amount for each time they post stuff, whether you click or not. If it were harder for them to post, their incomes would take a hit.
  • We seem to get more spams here on the weekend.

I guess that is when the kindergarten class is not is session.
  • You mean Good Sam?
After I registered on this forum my inbox got flooded with offers.

When I run my mouse over the post I get to preview the first couple of lines without clicking on it...

I don't think it would be a good idea to click on one of those...

I notice most of those have several click on links after you open it up. I definitely would not ever click on one of those... You may be selling your house with one click haha...

Another good clue is this is a new member and this is their first post...

  • Another forum I belong to, we had that problem, but the administrators put in a couple of "safeguards" where you have to prove that you are a real human and that you know what you are talking about in the forum. Then, your first five posts must be approved by the admin before you become able to just post anything.

I guess it is just easier to delete than to go through this for the admins here.
  • I don't think they care if we click on it or not. It is a method to put stuff on the web. You can google anything you see posted and it will show up.
  • I don't click on any of that junk. Most of them you can tell by the title.

Report and forget the posts. It's more work for the trolls to create new accounts and posts than it is for me to ignore them. :)
