The panel (I assume this is one in the RV) presumably distinguishes between 50A and 30A service by measuring the voltage between the two hot lines; if there is no voltage difference, then it believes it's a 30A service. Possibly if one of the legs is not powered at all it would also sense 30A and somehow via internal switching apply it to all the circuits.
Maybe on 30A it cycles the two air conditioner compressors such that they don't run simultaneously. Maybe the control sensor is not properly sensing one of the two lines (either voltage or current).
As for the pictures, check the "Show images that are part of posts (not recommended for dial-up users)" checkbox in the "My Preferences" section of the "My Forums" page, which there should be a link to at the top of the forums. If the "My Forums" page won't load due to some rather obscure appearing server error, change it to an https: URL (i.e. something like
https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/myforums.cfm). How well it works may well depend which portal you use to access the forums.
