Motorhomes from my experience do very well in the snow because there so heavy. April 1999, I was visiting the Grand Canyon 3/4 of the way thru it started snowing so I headed South. I ended up in Flagstaff, AZ. 7,500' the snow storm caught me by surprise from the Grand Canyon to Flagstaff, AZ. (snow was 1-1/2' when I arrived in Flagstaff), my coach was brand new and I didn't have chains, highway tread tires, and I drove accordingly (when I was driving I felt my front end start to slip so I decreased my speed 10 MPH from my original speed) I never spun a tire. In a motorhome you want to chain up the rear tires if you have a Jake Brake shut it off, a Jake Brake in the on position can cause your rear wheels to turn to the right and put you into a spin. I now carry chains with me when going over the mountains.
