- ButWhatDoIKnowExplorerI have had trouble with the Cherokee, as I have posted on other threads:
The rocking back and forth as a dinghy, the problem icon warning lights, not shifting into 9th gear, etc.
I have a Latitude with Active Drive II. - SquealersExplorerWe bought the 2014 Cherokee Latitude 4WD 6 cylinder with Active Drive II new in September and configured with a blue ox base plate.
LOVE THE JEEP! It pulls effortlessly, we have over 3K towing so far, with ZERO issues. I also love the way the Cherokee drives and runs.
Good luck, we are extremely satisfied with our decision. - rr2254545Explorer

- rr2254545ExplorerTows fine - we have towed our 68 times for a total of over 11,000 miles
Note to tow 4 down you must have the option of Active Drive II transmission - on mine it was $995
Trailhawk comes with this transmission standard - summerhouseExplorerWe have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk that we tow 4 down. We love it. We had a 2dr. Wrangler that we towed previously. The Wrangler was a fun vehicle and we enjoyed it for several years. But, it wasn't a comfortable daily driver, and after several years we grew tired of it. The Cherokee is a great vehicle for us. Lots of creature comforts and still trail rated to do any two tracking we want to do.
I personally wouldn't have any different vehicle. We tow with the Roadmaster All-Terrain Sterling and use the Invisibrake. - wolfe10ExplorerHere is an on-going discussion about flat towing the 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee: Flat Towing 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee
- rfsod48ExplorerI have a 2015 Cherokee Lattitude 4 wd drive II that we tow 4 wheels down. Great tow vehicle and good everyday car/suv. Averages 21+ mpg combined driving.
