Aqua Hot Qestions

I have the Aqua Hot AHE 100 and am wondering about a couple of things.

First, how often should the Ethylene Glycol (green) coolant be changed?

Second, what is the expected life expectancy of the AC heating element.

The AHA 100 has an 11 gallon tank so it provides most of out needs without the using the diesel burner but, with a tank of that size, the AC element is on a large percentage of the time. Also with with that much coolant there is a lot to deal with if I need to change the heater element so it might be wise to just change it if I need to change coolant.

I have glycol in my heating system here at the motel. every fall we draw a sample and put it in the freezer. If it freezes it needs topping up, if it doesn't we're good to go. If it looks ugly or needs a lot of topping up, that's a good time to replace.

Any electric elements we have get replaced when they fail.
Currently planning for retirement.....planning to build a small home in Nova Scotia for summers and someday year-round. Trying to sort out a good way to spend winters in central Florida as I can't drive anymore.

There is NO stated life expectancy of ANY electric heating element.
There work or don't and that can be for a few minutes (dry firing) or or MANY MANY years.

I have changed some after 20 years of use and some after a few months of use. No rhyme/no reason.

As for the coolant..........manual doesn't even address change interval

Gas vehicle........only changed coolant when work involved draining coolant
Diesel truck.......5 yrs or 100,000 miles due to type/needs of coolant

Aqua Hot is like the gas vehicle.......only when work requires draining of coolant

Is it time for your medication or mine?
