batteries

Can someone tell me if there are different grades ot interstate 6 volt deep cycle batteries
  • Interstate batteries are also sold by Costco private labeled as Kirkland brand at about $85 each for the 6 volt Golf Cart models.

I run Costco batteries in all my other vehicle with zero issues so I decided to try running them in my coach as well. I switched from two 12v batteries to four 6 volt golf cart batteries. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will be trying them out for the first time.

TSC is a bit pricy compared to some other stores.. I just paid too much for a battery there.. (Tractor Supply) but.. That said.. I do not YET have any complaints about it. Got to go needed elsewhere so night all.
  • I'd be willing to bet the 90 day and 5 year batteries are substantially different.

I bought an Interstate MTP-65 Mega-Tron Plus 2 days ago from Northern Tool for $130. Interstate website shows this battery lists for $173 with a suggested list of $151. Not sure what other dealers sell them for, but I thought that was pretty good. 6 yr performance (warranty?), 5 yr replacement warranty.

I didn't look for 6V batteries, but they had a pretty good type variety. Tractor Supply might be a good place to check also.

    I like the blem idea . . . . . if only I'd known.

    Best,

There are indeed different capacities.. I suspect there are also different grades, but I can not prove it.

I do know this, Many battery makers make batteries with like a 90 day warranty, a 2 year warranty and a 5 year warranty, All of them have specs that are dang near identical.. But they have different warranties.. One assumes the design life is 2x the warranty.. But if they are all identical.... Then it would make sense to only buy the 90 day wonders.
  • I would recommend to check and see if you have a Interstate Factory Store in your area as they sell blems at a big discount. I purchased four a couple of years back for $40 plus core. They are electrically same just some blem on the case. The warranty was less, but at that price I could still buy a replacement and still be $$ ahead. They will be 3 years old in March and not problems.

I will be replacing the (4) 6v golf batteries in our diesel pusher this Friday at $125 each. It now has the Interstate GC2-RD-UTL regular duty batteries which will be replaced with Interstate GC2-XHD-UTl which are $10-15 more. I believe the Interstate website has a search feature for locating the nearest distributor in your area. Check various places as prices can vary greatly for the same batteries. There appear to be (2) dealers in Joplin and (1) in Carthage.
  • I don't think there are different grades, but there are different capacities that fit in the same footprint. They're just taller
