Battery voltage goes low

I suggest you disconnect shore power and then read your six volt battery voltage. If it is less than 12 volts you have a bad battery or batteries...but this could be caused by a cell with low water. I would use a hydrometer and check each cell for proper charge..very cheap tool, simple to use and can save you a lot of time. A bad battery will cause your converter to work harder than it should. It cannot charge a battery that is no longer capable of holding one.

If your converter is hissing and warm, that means it's not dead. But you need to put those meter leads on the output of the converter to tell what it is putting out. One of the main wires from the converter to the battery may be loose. That will make the converter run at top capacity to try and satisfy the low battery condition, when in reality all it is doing is making heat in a bad connection.

Ok so checked all connections cleaned all grounds this morning. started working okay last night checked converter it is making a hissing noise and is slightly warm

Make sure you do in fact have power (120 Volt AC). If that is OK, then work your way through your inverter/charger system. If your charger is putting 13.5 V DC(Or more) to the batteries and you still have low output you have bad/loose connections or a shorted battery. (Shorted battery may be very hot) A shorted battery may cause the charger to shut off (over heat) or pop a breaker.

Hope you have a multimeter.

Converter failing

Plugged into AC Power Source converter DC out S/B at least 13.2V.
Anything less..converter bad

Also check and clean the battery connections including ground to chassis.

It's a strong indication that your converter is not getting the power from the converter to the battery. Check with your meter right on the converter terminals to see if it is putting out 14V or not.

I had the same problem, and when I drove the rig, the battery would charge. After three days, the battery was almost dead while on power. I found a loose connection on the negative terminal at the converter that went back to the battery. I wiggled the wires, and everything went bright so I knew I was onto it.
