Brite Tek roof vs Fiberglass

I think you will find everyone will say fiberglass. Me included.

Fiberglass will outlast the motorhome if properly cared for.
Brite Tek has a 20 year service life.
The question then would be; is the extra cost of fiberglass worth it to you? It will make no difference in the value down the road, but may be a good selling point in private sale.

Just curious, what is the brite tek roof??

Brite Tek is a roofing material made by Dicor.
It combines the attributes of EPDM's flexabliity with a top layer of the much thougher TPO.
TPO does not sluff off like EPDM.

BriteTEK is also known as a Membrane Roof, Combining the benefits of EPDM and TPO (thermoplastic olefin), BriteTEK Roof Membrane provides a watertight roof with superior puncture and tear resistance. Vastly superior to the older membrane roofing materials.

And fiberglass is NOT maintenance free either, tree branches can crack it, sun/UV can damage it, expansion and contraction can also crack the fiberglass roof, and the usual intrusion points such as vent pipes, skylites, antenna intrusions, clearance lights, edges etc still need caulking. Plus the 2 or 3000.00 upcharge for fiberglass needs to be thought out too.

For the price of fiberglass could you build a cover that would protect from sun and hail?

brite tech is TPO'ish. IMHO fiberglass is the best.
why get a substandard roof and instead of getting a fiberglass spend the same money on a cover?

IMO Fiberglass is the strongest choice.

Any roof can be damaged by tree branches etc.

When we ordered our MH I called the factory and told them I planned to install solar collectors. Newmar recommended Brite Tek as they used a thicker deck under the roof than when fiber glass was used. We ordered Brite Tek and have not been disappointed and did install 250 watts of solar collectors. If I were you I would call the factory and discuss the issue with a factory representative. BTW he also suggested heat pumps and an Power Tek generator over the other choices.
