I have read many posts about "Wheel Cut" but every one of them has been associated with diesel pushers. Many brochures and the coach builders websites talk about wheel cut, some 55 some 60 and some different from that. And it all has to do with the turning radius of the motorhome, a very important subject from my thought. But I've not seen one about gassers and maybe you can tell me why?All of the top gassers have the same Ford Engine and Tranmission but they do have have a different chassis. The top gassers are either 22,000 - 24,000 or 26,000. Do they all have the same wheel cut or is "wheel cut" not to be spoken of in polite company?Hey, where would we find polite company here? :)

I think the main issue here is that gassers - having engine on front don't have good wheel cut. Nothing to be proud about. I don't think turning radius is main issue with motorhomes, especially when we talk about shorter ones. My conversion takes at least 6 lanes for U-turn, so I have to plan ahead for the maneuver, but than I don't make U-turns with it very often.

The 2014 F53's have a 50 degree wheel cut according to Ford. I didn't dig any further than that.On edit: Reading the "fine print", the 22K chassis when equipped with 22.5" wheels only has a 42 degree cut.Class A Motorhome Chassis

Did not know it was forbidden and was never an issue until about 10 years when the normal 50 degrees was increased by some manufactures as a reason to buy their product. It's less of an issue with gassers as most have a much shorter wheel base than a DP.Mine is only 50 as Monaco uses a Dana truck axle... plenty for a short semi tractor. When I need to make a harder turn I'll do it in two or three steps, backing up a few feet with the wheel turned the opposite way increasing the turning radius... helps that I can back up without unhooking.

The wheel cut is only one part of the turning radius. The wheelbase is another factor as well as the amount of overhand swing in determining where your coach will fit when trying to maneuver it in to a tight spot.

Can we talk about the forbidien topic of "Wheel Cut"?

Workhorse chassis.....

"The steering angle or wheel cut on the 7,500 lb. and 8,000 lb. front axles is 45 degrees, on all chassis built to August 28, 2002. The optional 8,500 lb. front axle and all W Series chassis built after August 28, 2002 will have a wheel cut angle of 47 degrees. Starting January 6, 2004 all W Series chassis wheel cut increased to 50 degrees."

Tire rim size does not enter into the equation.

My 2013 Ford F-53 24K chassis with standard 22.5 " tires has a 50 degree wheel cut... And it turns like it, too.

I don't know the wheel cut of my 33 foot 08 Bounder with Ford chassis but I cant complain because I think it turns pretty sharp for a motorhome, you want to talk bad wheel cut my wifes 09 Nissan Frontier is bad, I think our motorhome turns sharper.
