Charging batteries with generator??

Will be putting the MH on a storage site for the first time. When parked at home I was able to plug into power and keep the coach batteries charged. Usually did this about two times over 5 month period. Did not use the battery disconnect.

I realize I will need to use the disconnect at the storage site but was also wondering if I was to run the generator would it charge the coach batters (like it was plugged into power)?

Found a great spot but this storage thing is new for us.
All comments appreciated.
Due to depreciation the above opinions are now worth less than what you paid for them.

I just happen to be a good bad example.

Exactly and yes, it will charge your batteries just like it was plugged in. Heading over and running the gen for about an hour or 2 every month with one AC running should do the trick. You could bring a movie to watch and a cold one or something.

Hi,

You might check the storage place on Padden Parkway, it has plug ins for the RV's so you can keep the RV plugged in during storage. IT is off 205 to the west, on Padden Parkway, near the costco Vancouver. I used to store my RV there while I lived in Portland area.

IF outside, I would install a 12 volt solar panel, say 50 to 150 watts, solar controller, and make your own mounts with some 2" angle aluminum. You can buy a panel fairly cheap these days. SunElec.com This type of system might cost $200 for parts, but keep the batteries in top shape, extending their lives well over 5 years (if golf cart batteries).
