We have had our 2001 Itasca Suncruiser 37G(Ability equipped) since 2005. The unit has a Braun lift (2nd door), roll in shower, extra wide galley, queen bed or electric hospital bed (changeable). The unit was built and bought from Winnebago with these modifications. It was purchased to bring my disabled father (in a wheelchair) on small trips. We did make many trips in the motorhome with him. He enjoyed it very much. But these days, he really doesn't like to leave home too much, so we are in question of whether or not to keep the unit, or attempt to sell it. My wife and I enjoy RV-ing, but the 37G is a little large for our preference. We are discussing if we should attempt to sell it, and perhaps purchase another unit that is more in line with our preferences. We discussed this with camping world RV sales, and they suggested we attempt to sell the unit ourselves to someone that had a disability need, as this would be a very narrow market, but if I found a buyer with that need, it would yield a better price. I really don't think anyone would buy a motorhome with a Braun lift if they didn't need a lift. But at times I consider removing the lift altogether and build in a small lightweight cabinet and utilize the 2nd exterior door for an outside entertainment system. I go back and forth on the idea. Sometimes we think we are going to keep it and just modify it, but other times we think it would be best to find the right buyer who has a disability modification need, and then go purchase a replacement unit that fits my wife and I better. Thoughts?

As it will add no value to remove everything, I would keep it until I could find a sale for it as it is equipped. You just gotta find the market, Camping World isn't it.

I agree with Johno02. Try to sell it to a targeted audience. Meanwhile, continue using it. I would not put any $$$ into renovating or changing anything. You'll not get your money back out and it won't add any value either. Take your time selling, keep it clean and well maintained, and eventually someone will come along who wants it. Might be sooner, might be later, but once it's sold, then you can get a new one that suits your current needs better. That's what I'd do.

I'm sure there is someone that would be interested.

We also equipped our 5th wheel with a lift so we could bring along my wheelchair bound Dad. He passed away a couple of years ago. We still use the 5th wheel because we like it and who knows at the rate we are decaying we may need the lift.That being said if you want to go smaller, I would definitely sell it privately. This is what I'd do. I'm sure there are many handicapped folks who would love to RV but can't. Put it in RVTrader so it covers a wide audience.

Thank you for the links. We are considering it. There is some sentimental values for our MH, and it has been very reliable too.

I'm not ready for a lift yet, but if I come across one with one when we're ready to buy it might win out! Sell it with the Lift attached. There will be a market.

Sell it. I'm on my second RV with a wheelchair lift and I be that sucker will sell quick. Don't take out the lift, that will be the main selling point.

It is not setup to drive. It is setup to transport, and lock down the wheelchair in the passenger area or transfer from wheelchair into a regular captain's chair.

I would try to sell it but the market will be small, especially if it is set up for a handicap driver.
