Class A Tire Recommendations

I'm new to this forum. We are in the process of pricing new tires for our 2004 Allegro Bus. Does anyone have brand recommendations and good or bad experiences with a particular brand? Thanks. A.B.

No one mentioned Sumitomo, but I've been very pleased with my Sumitomo 727 tires. Mounted in 2009 and still look like new and ride good.

before posting here you really should read the previous posts and you would clearly see the tire shop is incorrect on using so called truck tires.As far as uniroyal I have never seen them mentioned

No one has mentioned Uniroyals. Perhaps no one has them? The tire shop recommended not using a truck tire on a class A coach due to a stiffer ride. Our size is 275 80R 22.5. They also didn't recommend Michelins because of New Mexico's DRY climate. Any more thoughts out there? Thanks. A.B.

iam not thinking so much Michelin haters ? Iam thinking its that people have figured out that there are much cheaper alternatives to Michelin that are as good a tire as Michelin
Like in my case the continental is = to or better at $250PT cheaper
that's a big savings and no lose in quality

We bought Yokohamas 2 years ago and love them. Ride better than the Michelin did

I put Michelin on my car that I will wear them out on. On my Motorhome I don't feel the extra cost is worth it because they will time out long before they wear out. I just put Firestone truck tires on my coach and they actually ride nicer and quieter than the Goodyear RV tires that came off.
I have run Michelin on otr trucks and they are a great product but that said I have ran other brands and had great results as well for less money.

u say your a michelin repair tech? can u tell me why Michelin more than all other MH tires I have seen have sidewall cracking
.My 2958022,5 Michelins with 26K miles and 8 years had terrible sidewall cracking
I just changed the front to continental

It was years ago that I was in the Rubber industry and I dealt mainly with large earthmover tires. I think it all depends on the rubber compounds used and using a softer compound to try and get a softer ride out of the tire. It probably works in more moderate climates but in the States with hotter summer climates it reacts on the rubber causing it to dry out and crack. When I repaired tires Michelin compounds were very hard rubber and long wearing along with their radial technology which gained them a reputation of quality. Over the years other manufacturers have done alot of catch up.Just my opinion and am sure others may disagree.

The Michelins ride much better than the Toyos or the Goodrich

never had Goodrich but switched to toyo on my last bus and they rode better than the Michelin and have now switched to continental on my current allegro bus and so far they ride and handle better than the cracked sidewall Michelins I removed and there 250 PT cheaper

We had Toyos originally on our 2004 Country Coach. They rode stiff and smelled bad. At the recommendation of a tire guy in TX we bought B F Goodrich ST230's load range H. B F Goodrich is owned by Michelin and the tires are made in the US. We had the Goodrich for 6.5 years and decided to replace them for a long trip. The tire shop said we could probably get another year out of them. They rode "OK" and wore well. For the price they were a good choice. This time we decided to buy Michelins thru the FMCA program. The Michelins ride much better than the Toyos or the Goodrich. Bottom line we like the Michelins best but not the price. Goodrich a good 2nd choice if you want to save some money.

My mh had XRV michelin, pretty bad tire to put on a mh so I went for XZE truck tire and never looked back, excellent shape after 8 yrs on the road, Just my thought's.
